Irma Neumüller is a Swedish jazz vocalist and composer who writes music in both Swedish and English, where she gives new life to the traditional jazz sound with her personal touch. The music is swinging, uplifting and at times emotional. Musical influences include Carmen McRae, Monica Zetterlund and Stevie Wonder. With her strong stage presence, Irma welcomes the entire audience into her musical world.
Irma Neumüller was born in 2001 in Stockholm and began her musical journey in the classical world when she started playing the cello at the age of four. After twelve years as a cellist, she opened her eyes to jazz and its singing tradition. Irma studied jazz vocals at Södra Latin’s high school in Stockholm and two years at the nationally renowned Skurup pre-college before moving to Berlin where she currently studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin. In recent years, Irma Neumüller has been successful on stages all over Sweden. She has been appointed "Young Swedish Soloist 2023" by the Swedish performing arts organization. “Scenkonst Sörmland”, received several scholarships and is recurrently praised by jazz critics.
