The music of the quintessentially Czech composer DvoY?ík is a perennial favourite in the Romantic repertoire. The series of concerts in the DVOX?üK CYCLE contain music performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the Prague Philharmonic Choir, with three leading Czech conductors on the podium: Petr Altrichter, JiY?¡ Blohl?ívek and Libor Pesek. Guest soloists to appear on later volumes of the cycle include soprano Lucia Popp, alto Eva Randova, tenor Josef Protschka, bass Peter Mikulas, pianist Igor Ardasev, violinist Ivan Zenaty and cellist Mischa Maisky. JiY?¡ Blohl?ívek studied conducting with Sergiu Celibidache. Since 1995 he has been associated with the BBC Syumphony Orchestra, conducting the first and last Nights of the Proms in 2007. Ivan Zenaty has long held a leading position among Czech violinists. He was awarded the title 'Laureate of the International Tribune of Young Performers' UNESCO in 1989, and has been professor at the Music Academy in Dresden since 1996.
